Volvo Trucks North America is advancing its commitment to sustainable transportation, announcing that the Volvo VNR Electric has achieved 15 million miles in customer operations since commercial orders began in December 2020. Over 700 Volvo VNR Electric trucks are now in service across the U.S. and Canada, supporting fleets of all sizes, from single-truck owner-operators to those with over 100 battery-electric vehicles.

“Despite challenges like delays in charging infrastructure and regulatory uncertainties, our customers continue to embrace zero-tailpipe emission vehicles,” said Peter Voorhoeve, president of Volvo Trucks North America. “Volvo Trucks leads globally and in North America in battery-electric truck market share. We remain dedicated to supporting our customers’ transition to sustainability with top-quality products, robust dealer networks, and innovative financing.”
Next-Generation Volvo VNL Electric in Development
Volvo Trucks is gearing up for the future with the upcoming Volvo VNL Electric, built on the recently launched Volvo VNL platform. Featuring an electronic rear axle (e-axle) that integrates motors and transmission, this model will offer extended range by accommodating additional batteries. The official launch date will be shared later.
