The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) has announced a major cocaine seizure at the Blue Water Bridge, confiscating 187 kg of the drug with an estimated street value of $23.3 million.
The bust occurred on June 12, 2025, when border services officers at the Point Edward port of entry referred a commercial truck arriving from the United States for a secondary inspection. A detector dog assisted officers in locating 161 bricks of suspected cocaine, packed into six boxes within the trailer.
Karamveer Singh, a 27-year-old from Brampton, Ontario, was arrested by the CBSA. He and the seized narcotics have since been transferred to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP). Singh faces charges of Importation of Cocaine and Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking under the Controlled Drug and Substance Act. The investigation is ongoing. This significant seizure contributes to the 978 kg of cocaine that border services officers have seized at Southern Ontario ports of entry so far this year.
