CVSA’s Brake Safety Week continues across Canada, Mexico and the U.S., with inspectors focusing on commercial vehicle brake systems through Aug. 29.
Brake-related defects remain a top reason vehicles are placed out of service. This year’s emphasis is on drums and rotors. Inspectors are checking for worn, cracked or missing components, air leaks, over-stroking and other critical issues.

Vehicles with out-of-service brake violations cannot operate until fixed. The campaign also educates drivers, carriers and mechanics on proper maintenance. Results will be released later this year.
