Governor General Invites Canadians to Rideau Hall Movie Nights

His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada, will host the second annual Rideau Hall Movie Nights, on the evenings of August 21 and 22, 2015. This special event in Ottawa will feature acclaimed English- and French-Canadian films, on alternate nights, screened outdoors on the grounds of Rideau Hall. The film selection will be announced at a later date.

“Throughout the years, Canadian films have met with tremendous national and international success,” said the Governor General. “Canada’svibrant film industry and its many achievements deserve to be celebrated. Therefore, I am pleased to invite you to join me at Rideau Hall to enjoy our Canadian talent, and an evening among family and friends.”

Members of the public are invited to bring their blankets, settle in with some free popcorn, and watch these films under the stars.
